#1 - Silence of the Lambs (1991)

Let's kick it off, shall we? Surprise, I have never seen this movie. I have seen Hannibal and some bits of Hannibal Rising (sequel and prequel respectively), but not the original.

So I watched it. And I really liked it. Plus I finally got that South Park reference.

Put the fucking lotion on the basket!
The characters are the soul of the movie, and their performances are fantastic. Both Anthony Hopkins and... whoever plays the other nutjob are both very believable and creepy in their respective roles, and Jodie Foster was enjoyable even though her character is not that interesting. Compared to Lecter and Buffalo Bill, of course.

Lecter in particular is fucking awesome. It's unbelievable how the guy has only 16 minutes of screen time and still makes such a lasting impression.

"I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti."
Plus the way it was filmed is pretty clever. Particularly that part when can't tell who caught up with the killer, the police or Foster. Or when Lecter makes his escape. The movie shows every single little detail of both situations without giving anything away. That was just genius.

So yeah, if you like either suspense or crime movies, it's worth checking out.
